Mrs. Aurelia Hernandez a resident of the West Town community and her son Carlos, take advantage of the Illinois Secretary of State’s Mobile Unit. Ms. Hernandez stated, she has lived in the community for over 20 years. This is the first time Smith Park developed a partnership with the Office of the Secretary of State. Carlos Hernandez, now 16 years old stated, he needed an I.D. “everywhere I go, everyone is always asking for identification card”. Carlos never had the time to visit a facility so when he heard Smith Park was hosting the Secretary of State’s Office, he said it was a blessing.
Mrs. Hernandez congratulated President Ramos for bringing government services to Smith Park. I see the changes in the community and the park, Mr. Ramos is making positive changes.
David R. Ramos, President of SPAC stated, this is the first of many government services SPAC will sponsor this year. SPAC executive officers are coming up with different ways to partner with government, businesses and the community to support the Park’s youth and senior programs. Ramos also stated, he works closely with Alderman Roberto Maldonado, 26th Ward and the other community elected officials. They are all very supportive of Smith Park, if it wasn’t for them, Smith Park could not not be successful, said Ramos.
