The Smith Park Advisory Council will host an Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 3 p.m. until Sun Set, when we will show our final outdoor Movie in the Park. The movie ET by Steven Spielberg is one of the 80’s classics. It fits in with our Band “Dr Feelgood and the 80’s, as well as our DJ Mickey Oliver. Come on out and enjoy some great music by DJ (Mickey “Mixin” Oliver) and Dr. Feelgood and the 80’s who will play until sunset. This entire entertainment is FREE to all who attend.
Thanks to Billy Goat’s Tavern & Grill, we will have a Beer truck at the Park. All proceeds from the Beer sales will go towards the 2017 Smith Park Sports Program. This event is sponsored by Billy Goat’s, the Martorina Family, IPSA Corporation, Attorney Christopher Syregelas, Robert Lozins, and Bert’s Car Wash. Supported groups and partnerships are Alderman Roberto Maldonado, 26th Ward, the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Park District, Smith Park, and the City of Chicago’s Special Events.
Smith Park will have a Bouncing House for the kids, Face Painting, Chicago Fire Department Truck and the Chicago Police Department Mounted Horses.
