This week, the Smith Park Advisory Council received a surprise donations from Chicago Northside Toyota.
Robert “Bob” Lochercio, president/owner of Chicago’s Northside Toyota & Scion donated several auto show tickets to Smith Park.
David R. Ramos, president of the park’s advisory council stated Bob Lochorcio has been a great friend and a supporter of the Chicago Park District’s.
Bob called me and stated he had extra tickets for this year’s auto show at Chicago’s McCormick Place and he wanted to donate the tickets to the park.
I informed Bob that his donation was greatly appreciated and I knew exactly who to give the tickets too, said Ramos.
Ramos met with Frank Bogatitus, Chicago Park District Attendant. Frank and Travis Bogle, supervisor for Smith coordinates all the sports programs for the park. Frank stated he has several fathers that volunteer an enormous amount of time to Smith Park by coaching the Children’s Floor Hockey program.
During the hockey play off games, president Ramos spoke with the families in the audience and informed them how much it means to the park to have volunteers make Smith Park’s programs successful.
He also stated, the advisory council had received a wonderful donation, and on behalf of Mr Lochorcio and Chicago Northside Toyota he was proud to present these auto show tickets to all the coaches.
The fathers were thrilled to receive SPAC’s donation and Frank Bogatitus stated SPAC, who are all volunteer’s, are the support arm for Smith Park.
Many of our programs get the funding from the advisory council, we could not do what we do at Smith, if it was not for their help, said Frank.
