Smith Park Chicago: David Ramos, president of Smith Park Advisory Council, (SPAC) welcomed family members as they arrived to sign up their children for summer camp. This year, family members were treated to a FREE movie while waiting, said Ramos.
On Saturday, April 18, 2015, Smith Park held open registration for Summer Camp and baseball. Many families arrived early to beat the rush and waiting in line to register their children. This year, the families were treated to a free movie in the gym while waiting for their names to be called for the summer camp and baseball program.
David Ramos, president of SPAC was on hand to greet families as they arrived for registration. The SPAC officers approved the purchase of a new outdoor/indoor movie projector, screen, and sound system for the Movies in the Park. SPAC wanted to utilize this new system by treating the families who were waiting for summer camp and baseball registration to “Finding Nemo and the Bee Movie”. This is our way of giving back to the park’s families and by thanking them for making Smith Park their choice for their Neighborhood Park, said Ramos. There are still some room left for summer camp for additional information, please contact Maria Garduno at 312-742-7534.
