Although the weather was not the greatest, we would like to thank everyone who stopped by Smith Park for their Trick-or-Treats for Halloween. SPAC would like to thank Frank Bogatitus for passing out the Halloween candy and for his costume of Total Recall. Frank also decorated the field house to give it that Halloween touch with the black lights, strobe lights, fog machine and spooky sounds. On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, the Smith Park Advisory Council, (SPAC) held its bi-annual election for Vice President and Treasurer. Ms. Nani Almendarez, current Vice-President of SPAC and Mr. Dave Hunt, current Treasurer of SPAC was nominated by their peers, at the May 2014 general membership meeting, to seek another 2 year term as vice president and treasurer. Mr. Ernest Miller a WWII Veteran and member of the American Legion Post 623 presented a wreath with his granddaughter Elizabeth Diehl at the army tank at Smith Park. Members of the American Legion Post 623 and their families gathered together to commerate Memorial Day. The Smith Park Neighborhood Alliance and the Smith Park Advisory Council participated in the ceremony.
Smith Park receives support from Victor Supply in the West town community. On behalf of Smith Park, SPAC President David R. Ramos receives garden hoses from Victor Supply. Mr. Mike Victor, owner of Victor Supply stated he has been in the community for over 20 years and his donation is one way of supporting Smith Park. Pictured L – R: President David R.
